Center Stage Pianos is locally owned and operated by Doug Kraus, Piano Technician and Restoration Specialist. Located just outside of Utica, we service the Mohawk Valley and Central New York with over 50 years of combined experience. The entire staff of Center Stage Music brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from their various backgrounds as technicians, musicians and teachers. Doug Kraus initially joined Stage Music Pianos in 1993 and in 2010 launched his own business, Center Stage Pianos. His fascination with pianos was rooted in his love of music and fueled by an interest in applied physics. Doug has a lifetime of musical experience as a Principal French Hornist and as a Lead Guitarist and has put this to his advantage to become a highly skilled and experienced piano tuner. Doug's additional experience in the realm of Physics has served him very well in his development as a Piano Rebuiding Specialist.
Michele Wilsey received her BA in Music Industry from the State University of NY College at Oneonta and has certifications in theory and performance from the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in London, UK. She has over 15 years of experience as a private piano instructor. Michele can give you advice on choosing the best piano and maintenance schedule for your individual needs. She can also assist you with any billing and business related questions as needed.
Eric is a Piano Technician and Bassist whose music interests range from Bach to Charles Mingus and more. Since joining Center Stage Pianos, Eric has honed his exceptional aptitude for detail and good ear for pitch to become a very skilled piano tuner and technician under the direction of Doug Kraus. He is also one of our Moving Specialist.
As an accomplished pianist, Michael utilizes his experience as a performer to help give you advice in selecting a piano that will best suit your individual needs and budget. He has a Diploma in Piano from the Associated Board from the Royal School of Music in London, UK. Michael is also one of our experienced and fully insured Moving Specialists and can assist you with the details of safely moving your piano. In addition, he can answer questions you may have about maintaining your piano and scheduling an appointment for service. He is a piano teacher and can assist you with arranging for piano lessons at our in-store studios.
